Our firm is pleased to announce that our partner, Denise McCabe, has been appointed King’s Counsel (K.C.), marking a historic milestone as Fulton’s first female lawyer to receive this distinguished honour. The K.C. designation is granted by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, on the recommendation of the Attorney General of British Columbia. It is awarded to lawyers across British Columbia who demonstrate exceptional merit and contribution to the legal profession. At any given time, no more than 7% of practising lawyers in the province may hold this title.
With more than 25 years of experience in local government law, Denise is widely recognized for her ability to bring clarity and direction to complex legal issues. She is a trusted advisor to local governments facing high-profile and rapidly evolving challenges, offering a calm, forward-looking approach shaped by deep experience and thoughtful, strategic analysis. Her guidance helps public bodies across the province understand their options and move their priorities ahead with confidence.
In addition to her client work, Denise is deeply committed to the development of the legal profession. She is a trusted mentor, offering support, perspective, and guidance that has helped shape the next generation of leaders in the legal community, including her longstanding commitment to advancing women in the profession.
Denise’s depth of experience, leadership, and commitment to excellence make this appointment especially meaningful for our firm and the communities she serves. We extend our warmest congratulations to Denise on this historic and well-deserved recognition of an exceptional career.
