As of June 15, 2021, employers in B.C who are registered for WorkSafeBC insurance coverage can submit application for reimbursement of amounts paid to employees for COVID-19 paid sick leave, up to $200 per worker, per day. Application can be submitted for wages paid between May 20, 2021 until December 31, 2021.
Eligible employers can submit a COVID-19 Sick-Leave Reimbursement application HERE on WorkSafeBC’s website.
In order to be eligible, WorkSafeBC requires that the employer:
- Is registered for WorkSafeBC insurance coverage;
- Has signed up for WorkSafe BC’s employer online services; and
- Does not have an existing sick-leave program.
There is no further eligibility criteria published by WorkSafeBC at this time.
