BC Employers: Apply for COVID-19 Sick Leave Pay Reimbursement

As of June 15, 2021, employers in B.C who are registered for WorkSafeBC insurance coverage can submit application for reimbursement of amounts paid to employees for COVID-19 paid sick leave, up to $200 per worker, per day.  Application can be submitted for wages paid between May 20, 2021 until December 31, 2021.

Eligible employers can submit a COVID-19 Sick-Leave Reimbursement application HERE on WorkSafeBC’s website.

In order to be eligible, WorkSafeBC requires that the employer:

  1. Is registered for WorkSafeBC insurance coverage;
  2. Has signed up for WorkSafe BC’s employer online services; and
  3. Does not have an existing sick-leave program.

There is no further eligibility criteria published by WorkSafeBC at this time.
